Technical overview

  • Module: NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX with up to 100 TOPS AI performance; 8-core Arm Cortex-A78AE v8.2 64-bit CPU (2 MB L2 + 4 MB L3); 1024-core Ampere GPU with 32 Tensor Cores.
  • Memory: 16 GB LPDDR5 (128-bit, 102.4 GB/s). An 8 GB variant also exists; parameters differ slightly.
  • Base kit: Built on the Orin NX module with the JETSON-IO-BASE-B carrier board; provides M.2, HDMI, USB and other interfaces. The 16 GB kit includes a 256 GB NVMe drive.
  • Variant A: Adds an 8 MP camera (3280 x 2464) suitable for face recognition, road sign and license plate recognition.
  • Variant B: Builds on A by adding a 13.3-inch capacitive touch LCD (with case), 1920 x 1080, up to 10-point touch, built-in speaker; displays camera images in real time.
  • Default login: If username/password are already set after power-on, both are 'jetson'. Without a display, log in via serial port using PuTTY and configure credentials.
  • Flashing prerequisite: Use Ubuntu 20.04 or 22.04 as host or VM; enter recovery mode by shorting FC REC and GND under the module, connect DC power, then connect Type-C data cable to the host.
  • SDK Manager install: Run 'sudo dpkg -i sdkmanager_*.deb' in the terminal; if errors occur run 'sudo apt --fix-broken install'; then log into SDK Manager, select the board type and JetPack 6.1 (rev1).
  • Script-based flashing: Download BSP and rootfs packages, extract them, optionally preset user, then run l4t_initrd_flash.sh targeting nvme0n1p1.
  • Fan control: Install 'jtop' with 'sudo pip3 install jetson-stats'; after reboot run 'jtop', choose the 'manual' profile and adjust fan speed via [+].

Notes and version constraints

  • The source contains template placeholders such as {{{name5}}} and {{{userDefinedInfo}}} – these were ignored.
  • Upgrading to 'Super' depends on official NVIDIA firmware available only after January; no upgrade possible until then.
  • VM users see a pop-up after flashing; host users must connect in time – step is context-dependent.
  • The exact version of the SDK Manager deb may vary; command given as example only.
  • Commands refer to JetPack 6.2 resources; newer versions may use different paths – verify before running.
  • NVIDIA official resources are referenced only; no guarantee of availability or compatibility.
