Technical overview

  • Output voltages: battery voltage (3S), 5 V up to 5 A, 3.3 V up to 300 mA
  • Control interface: I2C; enables real-time monitoring of battery voltage, current, and power
  • Supports 3 × 18650 lithium batteries in series (not included)
  • Charger: 12.6 V / 2 A via DC5521 female port
  • Dimensions: 60 mm × 93 mm; mounting hole diameter 3.0 mm
  • Multiple protection circuits: overcharge, over-discharge, overcurrent, short-circuit, reverse-polarity protection, and equalizing charge
  • Onboard 5 V regulator providing up to 5 A continuous output, suitable for Raspberry Pi and Jetson Nano
  • LED indicators for verifying correct battery connection

Commands and examples – verify before use:

sudo raspi-config
cd UPS\ Module\ 3S/
sudo python3 INA219.py

Notes and version constraints

  • Batteries are not included; only use compatible 18650 cells
  • First-time connection: if the LED is on, the battery is reversed — do not charge it
  • If there is no power output on first connection, press the BOOT button to activate the battery protection chip
  • Use only the supplied 12.6 V / 2 A power supply for charging; other supplies may damage the product if their ripple is too large or unstable
  • If the positive insulation pad is broken, stop using the battery due to short-circuit/fire risk
  • Never pry the battery's positive terminal with a screwdriver; work from the negative terminal instead
  • Install the acrylic insulating board before use because exposed components on the underside can short against metal or conductors
  • Lithium batteries have limited cycle life; replace them when they reach max cycles or after two years of operation
  • Do not mix old and new batteries or different brands
