Technical overview
- The display uses an IPS panel with a 400×1280 resolution and is driven directly through the Raspberry Pi's DSI interface at up to 60 Hz refresh rate.
- It features a five-point capacitive touch panel made of toughened glass rated up to 6H hardness.
- Compatible with Raspberry Pi models Pi5/CM5/CM4/CM3+/CM3 and Pi4B/3B+/3B/3A+, using either a 12 cm DSI cable or a 15-pin FPC cable depending on the board.
- Operating voltage is 5 V with a minimum current requirement of 0.6 A; operating temperature range is 0–60 °C and storage range is -10–70 °C.
- For Bookworm/Bullseye, a dtoverlay line for the Waveshare panel is added to config.txt; for Buster, the driver can be installed manually or a pre-installed image can be flashed.
- Display and touch rotation are configured differently per system: via GUI settings on Trixie/Bookworm, via config.txt on Bullseye/Buster, or via cmdline.txt on the lite version.
- Screen power can be toggled with wlr-randr under Labwc/Wayfire, while xset dpms force off handles sleep mode under X11.
- Touch input can be disabled by adding disable_touchscreen=1 to the end of config.txt; the change takes effect after a reboot.

Notes and version constraints
- The correct DSI interface (DSI0 or DSI1) must be selected per board; DSI1 is the default.
- Before flashing a pre-installed image, the SD card should be formatted and the correct kernel/architecture path (32-bit or 64-bit) identified.
- After a system update on Buster, previously installed driver files may be overwritten; reinstalling the driver may be necessary.
- When switching motherboard platforms (e.g., from Pi4B to Pi3B+), the appropriate drivers must be reinstalled because Pi4 and Pi3 load different driver files.
- Synchronized display-and-touch rotation is supported only on Trixie/Bookworm; on Bullseye/Buster, touch rotation must be set manually in config.txt.
- Screen control commands apply only to specific graphical environments (Labwc/Wayfire vs. X11); the output name (DSI-1/DSI-2/HDMI-A-1) must match the actual display in use.
- All changes to config.txt or cmdline.txt require a reboot to take effect.
