Notes and version constraints

  • Exact cable names (DSI-Cable-12cm, Pi5-Camera-Cable) are model-specific; verify included cables before purchase.
  • For older systems (Stretch/Jessie), rotation must be set in config.txt; newer systems use the Screen Configuration app.
  • On Bookworm, display and touch rotation are synchronized automatically; on Bullseye/Buster, touch rotation must be configured separately.
  • Camera commands differ by OS branch: libcamera (Bookworm/Bullseye) vs. raspicam (Buster/Ubuntu).
  • Before running a system update (e.g., rpi-update pulls/6050), back up important data.
  • The 5 V / 500 mA power consumption refers to the display only; total load depends on the connected Raspberry Pi.
