Technical overview

  • The unit consists of a Raspberry Pi 400 (1.8 GHz ARM Cortex-A72, 4 GB LPDDR4) and a 7-inch HDMI LCD with an IPS panel.
  • The LCD has a native resolution of 1024×600; software-configurable up to 1920×1080.
  • Pi 400 interfaces: 2× USB 3.0, 1× USB 2.0, dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4/5 GHz), Bluetooth 5.0/BLE, Gigabit Ethernet, 2× micro-HDMI (up to 4Kp60).
  • Unit dimensions: max. 286 × 122 × 23 mm.
  • The LCD features a capacitive touch panel with toughened glass (case version only, 6H hardness).
  • For PC operation, connect the LCD's USB port to the PC; Windows recognizes touch automatically. For VGA input, a mini-HDMI-to-VGA cable is required (sold separately).
  • For Raspberry Pi operation, the LCD resolution must be set manually in config.txt, including lines such as hdmi_mode=87 and hdmi_cvt 1024 600 60 6 0 0 0.
  • With multiple monitors, touch applies to the main screen by default; assigning it to a secondary monitor uses xinput map-to-output.

Notes and version constraints

  • The exact IDs for xinput map-to-output are device-dependent and must be determined beforehand using xrandr and xinput.
  • Some PCs do not support HDMI hot-plug; a reboot may be required.
  • If the display flickers due to insufficient USB power, connect an external 5 V/2 A power supply to the DC port.
  • HP audio output works only when using HDMI communication.
  • The mini-HDMI-to-VGA cable must be purchased separately.
