Summary
The Waveshare Li-polymer Battery HAT uses the SW6106 battery management chip to provide a regulated 5 V DC supply for a Raspberry Pi or other 5 V devices from a lithium-polymer battery. The HAT charges the battery and supports bi-directional quick charging via multiple protocols.

Technical overview
- Output voltage: 5 V; charge voltage: 5 V.
- Supported quick-charge protocols: PD, QC, FCP, PE, SFCP.
- Battery spec: 3.7 V cell; 4.2 V when fully charged; discharge cut-off at 3.0 V to prevent over-discharge.
- Maximum load current: about 1.8 A (chip can deliver up to 4 A, limited by the battery).
- Sleep cut-off current: below 40 mA the chip enters sleep and stops output.
- Dimensions: 65.05 mm × 56,55 mm; hole diameter 3.0 mm.
- Five capacity LEDs indicate state of charge from 1 % to 100 %.
- Quick-charge indicator lights only when the power adapter supports a recognized quick-charge standard.
- Interfaces: Micro USB (charging), USB Type-A (power output), USB Type-C (charging, quick charge, power output).
Notes and version constraints
- No compatibility, price, stock, certification or warranty information is present in the source text.
- The module cannot act as a UPS: unplugging the power cord causes a brief power failure that restarts the Raspberry Pi.
- When replacing the battery, disconnect all devices and verify polarity.
- Use only batteries with a protection circuit; do not mix old and new cells.
- Discharge the battery down to 3.0 V; failing to do so risks damage.
