Summary

Technical overview
- Uses the sixth-generation 802.11ax standard (Wi-Fi 6E).
- Supports three bands: 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz.
- Provides up to 574 Mbps on the 2.4 GHz band and 2400 Mbps on the 5 GHz or 6 GHz bands.
- Offers Bluetooth 5.3; older hardware versions (before 19 Sep 2023, version 002) support BLE 5.2.
- Uses an NGFF/M.2 A/E-key interface.
- Connects via PCIe for Wi-Fi and USB for Bluetooth.
- Runs on Linux with kernel 5.11 or newer; Wi-Fi only without Bluetooth can work from 5.10.
- The native Raspberry Pi CM4 OS will not work without recompiling the kernel.
- The default hardware version of the AX210 is 006; earlier versions before 19 Sep 2023 carry version 002.
- An antenna must be attached to the module so it can receive a signal.
Commands and examples – verify before use:
dmesg | grep iwlwifi
dmesg | grep hci
hciconfig
hciconfig hci0 up
hciconfig hci0 down
hciconfig hci0 reset
hcitool scan
lspci
Notes and version constraints
- The exact firmware file (e.g., iwlwifi-ty-a0-gf-a0-59.ucode or ibt-12-16.sfi) depends on the specific hardware revision and operating system and may need to be manually downloaded and copied into /lib/firmware.
- If SSH connections fail after an IP change, the known-hosts key file may need to be cleaned up.
- When compiling the kernel, the required Raspberry Pi kernel version must be determined in advance; the guide points to an external repository.
- Bluetooth support is absent on Jetson Xavier NX because only the 5.10 kernel is available there.
- Whether the stated speeds are actually achieved depends on router, environment, and firmware state, which cannot be verified here.
- If dmesg output is empty, besides rebooting, the kernel version should be checked to ensure it is at least 5.11.
