Technical overview

  • IPS panel with a hardware resolution of 1280×800 pixels
  • Ten-point capacitive touch input via a tempered glass touch sensor with a hardness up to 6H
  • Optical bonding of the panel to improve image quality
  • Connection to the DSI1 port of the Raspberry Pi using a 12 cm DSI cable on newer models or a 15-pin FPC cable on older models
  • Power supply through a 4-pin header with an input voltage of 4.75–5.30 V and a minimum current of 0.5 A
  • Operating temperature range from 0 °C to 60 °C; storage temperature range from −10 °C to 70 °C
  • Supports the Bookworm, Bullseye, and Buster operating systems on the Raspberry Pi
  • Graphical brightness adjustment via the system menu or terminal command in the /sys/class/backlight sysfs directory
  • Display rotation in Trixie/Bookworm via the “Screen” → “Orientation” menu, while Bullseye/Buster may require manual rotation
  • Touch functionality can be disabled by adding the line disable_touchscreen=1 to config.txt

Notes and version constraints

  • Exact compatibility lists and power values must be verified before purchase or deployment.
  • If the motherboard is changed, the driver must be reinstalled because Pi4 and Pi3 require different driver files.
  • Synchronous rotation of display and touch is only supported on Trixie/Bookworm; on Bullseye/Buster, touch rotation must be set manually.
  • System updates may overwrite previously installed driver files, requiring reinstallation.
  • The wlr-randr commands apply only to Labwc and Wayfire interfaces, not to X11.
  • Long-term storage in hot, humid environments should be avoided as it can damage the display.
