Technical overview

  • Resolution: 400 × 300 pixels on a 4.2-inch diagonal; pixel pitch 0.212 mm × 0.212 mm.
  • Display: black/white screen with additional support for four grayscale levels (black, dark gray, light gray, white).
  • Interface: SPI (MOSI→GP11, SCK→GP10, CS→GP9, DC→GP8); additionally RST on GP12 and BUSY on GP13.
  • Power: 3.3 V or 5 V via an onboard voltage translator; sleep current below 0.01 µA, refresh power about 26.4 mW (typ.).
  • Dimensions: bare screen 90.1 × 77.0 × 1.18 mm; driver board 93.5 × 78.5 mm; active display area 84.8 × 63.6 mm.
  • Full refresh takes about 4 s; the process may flicker slightly – this is normal.
  • Two user buttons are onboard; the last displayed image persists after power-off (no backlight required).
  • Example code is available in C (pico-sdk/cmake/make) and MicroPython (Thonny IDE); demo files are flashed via the USB RPI-RP2 drive.

Notes and version constraints

  • Line numbers cited in the source (e.g., “line 18” in main.c) may vary between example-code versions; verify the correct #define selection before compiling.
  • The stated refresh time and power values are test measurements; real-world values can differ depending on environment.
  • The full-refresh process produces brief flickering – according to the source this is a normal phenomenon, not a fault.
  • For Pico 2, switch the build to pico2/rp2350 and use firmware rp2-pcio2-20240809-v1.24.0.uf2.
  • No warranty, certification, or pricing information appears in the source material; these items must be verified separately.
