Technical overview

  • The Raspberry Pi 400 features a 1.8 GHz ARM Cortex-A72 processor, 4 GB LPDDR4-3200 RAM, dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4/5 GHz), Bluetooth 5.0/BLE, Gigabit Ethernet, two USB 3.0 ports and one USB 2.0 port.
  • The kit includes a 13.3-inch IPS display with 1920 × 1080 resolution, a tempered-glass capacitive touch panel (6H hardness) and built-in speakers.
  • Kit interfaces: Type-C power input (requires a 5 V / 3 A adapter), 40-pin GPIO header, micro SD card slot, and two micro HDMI outputs supporting up to 4Kp60.
  • Overall system dimensions: 286 mm × 122 mm × 23 mm (maximum).
  • The display supports HDMI, VGA and 3.5 mm audio output; VGA requires an additional adapter cable.
  • When used with Raspberry Pi, the screen resolution must be set manually in config.txt; otherwise the system default resolution is used.
  • On Windows PCs the display works plug-and-play via HDMI or VGA; when multiple monitors are connected, it is recommended to set the LCD as the primary monitor.
  • Wall mounting is possible through 100 × 100 mm fixing holes (M4); a 60° tilt-angle bracket is included.

Commands and examples – verify before use:

xrandr
xinput
xinput map-to-output <touch ID> <HDMI-ID>
sudo apt-get install xserver-xorg-input-libinput
sudo mkdir /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d
sudo cp /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/40-libinput.conf /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/
sudo nano /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/40-libinput.conf
sudo reboot

Notes and version constraints

  • For 90° display rotation on Raspberry Pi 4, the line 'dtoverlay=vc4-fkms-V3D' must also be commented out – version-sensitive step.
  • Exact xinput/xrandr IDs must be determined on site; example fixed values (e.g., 7, HDMI-1) are illustrative only.
  • Using VGA requires purchasing a mini-HDMI male to VGA female adapter cable; not included in the package.
  • Some PCs may only recognize HDMI devices after a system restart.
  • The HP audio output works only during HDMI communication.
  • When multiple monitors are connected simultaneously, the main-monitor cursor can only be controlled through the LCD; therefore configure the LCD as the primary monitor.
