Notes and version constraints

  • Google Assistant service is limited to 500 requests per day.
  • When using the latest Raspberry Pi OS (image after October 30, 2021), the USB port may report an error; the fix requires removing otg_mode=1 and adding dtoverlay=dwc2, dr_mode=host in config.txt.
  • The wake-up word may need to be re-recorded via the Snowboy website and the model file replaced accordingly.
  • Setting up Google Assistant requires registering an OAuth client and device model ID; exact values are project-specific and require manual configuration.
  • Power supply is 12 V / 1 A with a 3.5 mm plug (outer 3.5 mm, inner 1.35 mm); when using other power supplies, ripple must stay within ±5 %.
