Summary
The Sense HAT (B) is a sensor expansion board for the Raspberry Pi series. It provides integrated sensors for motion, environment and color, plus an ADC for connecting external sensors via I2C.

Technical overview
- Connects via the standard 40-pin GPIO header of Raspberry Pi boards; no pin header needed on Raspberry Pi Zero, but one is required for Raspberry Pi 4.
- Onboard 9-axis sensor ICM20948: 3-axis accelerometer, 3-axis gyroscope and 3-axis magnetometer with 16-bit resolution.
- Onboard barometer LPS22HB for air-pressure measurement; 24-bit pressure resolution, 16-bit temperature resolution.
- Onboard temperature/humidity sensor SHTC3: temperature range -30 to 100 °C, humidity range 0–100 % rH.
- Onboard color sensor TCS34725: 4 channels RGBC, 16 bits per channel.
- Onboard ADC SGM58031: 4 channels, 16-bit resolution, expands the system with external sensors over I2C.
- All onboard sensors have distinct I2C addresses and can be used simultaneously: ADS1015 0x48, ICM20948 0x68, LPS22HB 0x5C, SHTC3 0x70, TCS34725 0x29.
- Operating voltage 3.3 V; dimensions 65 mm x 30.5 mm.

Notes and version constraints
- The demo package includes examples for several host platforms (Raspberry Pi, VisionFive2, STM32); not all examples are available for every platform.
- On Bookworm systems only the lgpio library is available; bcm2835 and wiringPi cannot be installed or used there.
- Mixing different libraries can cause abnormal behavior; restarting the Raspberry Pi resolves such issues.
- For serial output problems in the STM32 demo, confirm the baud rate is set to 115200 and the correct connection type (USART2, PA2 TXD / PA3 RXD) is selected.
- Before using external sensors over the I2C bus, check for address conflicts.
