Technical overview
- Sensor chip: Sony IMX219, 8 megapixels (resolution 3280 x 2464).
- Field of view (diagonal): 200 degrees; distortion under 11%.
- Aperture F/2.0, focal length 0.87 mm, CMOS size 1/4 inch.
- Connection: CSI connector; on Jetson Nano, insert the cable metal side facing the heatsink into the camera port.
- Testing on Jetson Nano: open terminal (Ctrl+Alt+T) and run “DISPLAY=:0.0 nvgstcapture-10”.
- Dual cameras: select sensor with --sensor-id=0 or --sensor-id=1.
- If image appears reddish: download camera_overrides.isp, copy to /var/nvidia/nvcam/settings/, set permissions.
- OpenCV integration possible via provided Simple_camera.zip example.
- On Raspberry Pi/compute module: usable like other RPi cameras; for RPi 5 use the supplied 22-pin cable.
- libcamera stack replaced raspicam from Bullseye; six helper commands: libcamera-hello, -jpeg, -still, -vid, -raw plus tuning options.
Commands and examples – verify before use:
DISPLAY=:0.0 nvgstcapture-1.0
DISPLAY=:0.0 nvgstcapture-1.0 --sensor-id=0
DISPLAY=:0.0 nvgstcapture-1.0 --sensor-id=1
