Summary
The Waveshare 1.3-inch LCD module uses an ST7789VW controller, an IPS panel with 240x240 resolution and an SPI interface. It operates at 3.3 V or 5 V and is intended for Raspberry Pi, STM32, Arduino and VisionFive2.

Technical overview
- Resolution: 240 x 240 pixels; display area approx. 23.4 mm x 23.4 mm; pixel pitch 0.0975 mm.
- Controller: ST7789VW (supports RGB444, RGB565, RGB666); demos use RGB565.
- Interface: 4-wire SPI (MOSI/DIN, SCLK/CLK, CS, DC, RST, BL).
- Raspberry Pi wiring: VCC to 3.3 V, GND, DIN to MOSI (pin 19), CLK to SCLK (pin 23), CS to CE0 (pin 24), DS/DC to pin 22, RST to pin 13, BL to pin 12.
- STM32 example based on STM32F103RBT6: DIN→PA7, CLK→PA5, CS→PB6, DC→PA8, RST→PA9, BL→PC7.
- Arduino UNO example: DIN→D11, CLK→D13, CS→D10, DC→D7, RST→D8, BL→D9, VCC→5 V.
- SPI protocol: CSX low enables the device; D/CX = 0 writes commands, D/CX = 1 writes data; default mode SPI0 (CPHA=0, CPOL=0).
- Raspberry Pi: enable SPI via raspi-config (Interfacing Options → SPI → Yes), then reboot.
- On Bookworm only lgpio is available; bcm2835 and wiringPi cannot be installed there.
- VisionFive2 pins match the Raspberry Pi table: DIN→19, CLK→23, CS→24, DC→22, RST→13, BL→12.

7z x LCD_Module_code.7z -o./LCD_Module_code
cd LCD_Module_code/VisionFive/python/example/
python3 1inch3_LCD_test.py
Notes and version constraints
- Different Linux versions support different libraries; e.g., FBCP does not work on Bookworm – Bullseye is recommended.
- Power supply must match the logic voltage (3.3 V or 5 V), otherwise the module will not operate correctly.
- For Arduino, a stable 5 V power supply must be connected, otherwise the display may malfunction.
- Pin mappings can vary by development board; verify actual pins before soldering.
- Version-sensitive steps: demo downloads and library installations depend on the operating system used.
- Accuracy of pin assignments and compatibility should be confirmed by a technician before integration.
