Commands and examples – verify before use:
hdmi_group=2
hdmi_mode=87
hdmi_cvt 800 480 60 6 0 0 0
hdmi_drive=1
disable_splash=1
sudo apt-get install xinput-calibrator
sudo apt-get install xserver-xorg-input-evdev
sudo cp -rf /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/10-evdev.conf /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/45-evdev.conf
sudo reboot
Notes and version constraints
- The exact hdmi_cvt line depends on firmware version; verify that the parameters match your Pi firmware before saving.
- Testing hardware modifications (e.g., brightness adjustment via the resistor) risks damaging the LCD; do not attempt without experience.
- If the screen stays blank during calibration under Windows, press Enter to switch input to the touchscreen.
- For thin red lines at the screen edge: add hdmi_drive=1 to config.txt.
- The long-press emulation (evdev-rce) requires a specific test environment (raspios-bullseye-armhf 32-bit); compatibility with newer systems must be checked individually.
