Summary

The 1.32-inch OLED module uses the SSD1327 driver with a resolution of 128 × 96 pixels and 16 gray levels. It supports 4-wire SPI and I2C communication and is configured via solder bridges on the back.

Technical overview

  • Resolution: 128 × 96 pixels; 16 gray levels; white OLED display
  • Driver IC: SSD1327
  • Operating voltage: 3.3 V or 5 V (IO high-level must match supply voltage)
  • Communication buses: 4-wire SPI and I2C
  • Module outline: 32.6 mm × 28.3 mm; active display area: 26.86 mm × 20.14 mm
  • Operating temperature: −20 °C to +70 °C; storage temperature: −30 °C to +80 °C
  • Viewing angle: > 160°
  • Pins: VCC, GND, DIN (MOSI/SDA), CLK (SCLK/SCL), CS (SPI only), DC, RES
  • Ships in default 4-wire SPI mode: R1 = 0R, R2 = unsoldered, R3 = unsoldered
  • I2C address depends on DC pin state: R3 soldered → address 0x3C; R3 unsoldered → address 0x3D

Commands and examples – verify before use:

sudo raspi-config
sudo reboot
sudo ./main 1.32
sudo python3 OLED_1in32_test.py
wget http://www.airspayce.com/mikem/bcm2835/bcm2835-1.71.tar.gz
tar zxvf bcm2835-1.71.tar.gz
cd bcm2835-1.71/
sudo ./configure && sudo make && sudo make check && sudo make install
sudo apt-get install wiringpi
sudo wget https://files.waveshare.com/upload/2/2c/OLED_Module_Code.7z
7z x OLED_Module_Code.7z -O./OLED_Module_Code
cd OLED_Module_Code/RaspberryPi/c
sudo make clean
sudo make -j 8
cd ../python/example
sudo python3 OLED_1in32_test.py

Notes and version constraints

  • The source provides no explicit compatibility lists for all microcontroller platforms; the example pages only cover Raspberry Pi, STM32, and Arduino – other platforms require custom driver adaptation.
  • When using STM32, the I2C routines must use analog I2C; exact connection details are incompletely shown in the source.
  • The DC pin state controls the I2C address; after soldering R3, do not connect power to the DC pin.
  • The C examples support multiple display sizes via a parameter; for the 1.32-inch module, the correct call is `sudo ./main 1.32`.
  • The ~50,000-hour lifetime figure comes from the manufacturer's 24-hour burn-in test; independent verification is missing.
  • No information on certifications, warranty, or safety standards appears in the source; these must not be added here.
