Summary

The LC76G is a multi-GNSS module from Waveshare (SKU WSAL24370) that supports GPS, BDS, GLONASS, Galileo and QZSS. It outputs NMEA 0183 data over UART/I²C and provides PAIR commands to configure baud rate, update rate, satellite systems and start types.

Technical overview

  • Supported GNSS systems: GPS, BeiDou (BDS), GLONASS, Galileo and QZSS; multi-system combined or single-system operation is possible.
  • Dimensions 9.7 × 10.1 × 2.4 mm, weight approx. 0.5 g (LCC package).
  • Operating temperature range -40 °C to +85 °C; storage temperature range -40 °C to +90 °C.
  • Interfaces: UART (TX/RX), I²C (SDA/SCL), PPS timing pulse, reset, VCC/GND; antenna connector for active and passive antennas with short/open detection.
  • NMEA 0183 output includes e.g. $GPRMC, $GPGGA, $GPZDA, $GNGNS, $GPGSA, $GPGSV, $GPGLL, $GPGST; prefixes such as GP/BD/GL/GA/GN identify the respective system or multi-system mode.
  • PAIR commands allow configuring serial baud rate ($PAIR864), position update rate ($PAIR050), NMEA output type/rate ($PAIR062) and enabled satellite systems ($PAIR066).
  • Start commands: $PAIR004 = hot start, $PAIR005 = warm start, $PAIR006 = cold start, $PAIR007 = clear configuration and cold start.
  • The wiki provides demos for Raspberry Pi, Arduino, Raspberry Pi Pico, ESP32 and Jetson Nano; on Windows, connection is via a USB-UART adapter using Minicom/U-center.
  • Default module baud rate is 115200 bps; however, 9600 bps was used in the example for Minicom debugging.
  • The GGA sentence contains altitude in meters plus geoid/ellipsoid height difference; RMC provides UTC time, position, speed, heading and date.

Notes and version constraints

  • The source page contains placeholders ({name3}, {userDefinedInfo}, etc.), indicating an incomplete template; these were removed.
  • Some details (e.g., exact compatibility lists, prices, stock, certifications or warranty) are absent from the source and must not be invented.
  • Version-sensitive steps (e.g., Pi 5 vs. older boards, ESP32 plugin versions) require human confirmation before implementation.
  • In bad weather or heavy obstruction, the first fix may take longer or fail; this is not a fault of the module itself.
  • All PAIR checksums must be recalculated after any change; the values listed in the wiki apply only to the examples shown.
  • No statements about safety certifications or warranty are present in the source material; such claims were deliberately omitted.
