Summary

Active, galvanically isolated RS232-to-RS485 converter for DIN-rail mounting. It converts unbalanced RS232 signals into balanced differential RS485 signals and supports a transmission rate of 300 to 115200 baud.

Technical overview

  • Power input: DC 5 V to 36 V via screw terminals.
  • Transmission rate: stable at 300 to 115200 baud.
  • Isolation: unibody digital signal and power isolation without external power at the isolated terminal.
  • Protection circuitry: onboard TVS against overvoltage, lightningproof with 600 W rating, and ESD protection (15 kV).
  • Additional protection: self-recovery fuse and protection diodes against overcurrent and overvoltage.
  • RS485 output terminal with optional 120-ohm resistor, enabled via jumper.
  • Indicator LEDs: PWR (red), TXD (green), RXD (blue) indicate power, transmit, and receive activity.
  • Enclosure: ABS, suitable for 35 mm DIN rail; dimensions 91.6 x 58.7 x 23.3 mm.

Notes and version constraints

  • The exact pinout and precise jumper positions must be confirmed on the physical device.
  • When using multiple nodes in point-to-multipoint mode, a relay may be required to keep the node count within the 16-node limit.
  • Proper grounding connections (SGND/GND) must be verified before commissioning.
  • Compatibility with existing RS232 devices should be validated in the target system.
  • Protection ratings (e.g., 600 W lightningproof) are based on manufacturer claims and should be independently validated for critical applications.
