Technical overview

  • M.2 B Key form factor; dimensions 42.0 × 31.4 × 3.8 mm; operating temperature −40 °C to +85 °C.
  • Power supply 3 V to 4.2 V; approximately 4.0 V recommended for proper operation.
  • LTE-FDD bands: B1, B2, B3, B4, B5, B7, B8, B12, B13, B18, B19, B20, B25, B26, B28, B66.
  • LTE-TDD bands: B34, B38, B39, B40, B41; WCDMA: B1, B2, B4, B5, B6, B8, B19; GSM: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz.
  • GNSS: GPS, Beidou, GLONASS, GALILEO, QZSS; antenna connectors IPEX-4 (LTE main, LTE diversity, and GNSS antenna).
  • Data rates: LTE 150 Mbps downlink / 50 Mbps uplink; HSPA+ 42/5.76 Mbps; WCDMA 384 Kbps; EDGE 236.8 Kbps; GPRS 85.6 Kbps.
  • Interfaces: UART, USB, GPIO; supported OSes Windows/Linux/Android; protocols TCP/IP/IPv4/IPv6/Multi-PDP/FTP/FTPS/HTTP/HTTPS/DNS; SMS MT/MO/CB/Text/PDU; firmware update via USB/FOTA.
  • STA/NET LED states: both off = powered off; both on = operating; STA on, NET blinking = no SIM or weak signal; NET blinking/on during shutdown = shutting down.
  • Raspberry Pi setup: install minicom, open /dev/ttyUSB2, run AT+CUSBPIDSWITCH=9011,1,1, then sudo dhclient -v usb0 for RNDIS data access.
  • AT commands cover test, echo, manufacturer/type/SN/firmware version checks, signal quality (AT+CSQ), SIM status (AT+CPIN?), network status (AT+CREG?, AT+COPS?), and network mode selection (AT+CNMP).

Notes and version constraints

  • M.2 B Key is not compatible with MINI-PCIe connectors – verify the interface before use.
  • Do not plug in the module while it is powered.
  • If the module does not connect normally after successful setup: try one of the two AT+CNBP commands to change the frequency.
  • The exact return values of AT+CSQ, AT+COPS? and AT+CREG? are given only as placeholders in the source; actual values must be read from the device.
  • Version-sensitive steps and driver installation may vary by OS version; human confirmation required when uncertain.
