Technical overview

  • Based on the Waveshare JETSON-NANO-DEV-KIT (B01) with the NVIDIA Jetson Nano module.
  • Supports three 18650 batteries (not included), up to 12.6 V output for stronger motor power.
  • Onboard S-8254AA + AO4407A lithium battery protection circuit guards against overcharge, over-discharge, over-current and short-circuit.
  • APW7313 voltage regulator provides a stable 5 V supply to the Jetson Nano.
  • TB6612FNG dual H-bridge driver powers the left and right drive motors.
  • 0.91-inch OLED display (128×32) shows IP address, memory and power in real time.
  • ADS1115 ADC enables real-time monitoring of battery voltage.
  • At least a 64 GB SD card is required when flashing the image yourself; pre-flashed SD cards allow skipping step 1.

Commands and examples – verify before use:

git clone http://github.com/NVIDIA-AI-IOT/jetbot.git
cd jetbot && ./scripts/configure_jetson.sh && ./scripts/enable_swap.sh
cd docker && ./enable.sh $HOME
sudo nmcli device wifi connect <wifi_name> password <wifi_password>
ssh 192.168.55.1
sudo nvpmodel -m0
nvpmodel -q
sudo systemctl set-default graphical.target
cd /usr/lib/nvidia/resizefs/ && sudo chmod 777 nvresizefs.sh && sudo ./nvresizefs.sh && sudo reboot

Notes and version constraints

  • The source contains placeholders such as {{{name2}}} and {{{userDefinedInfo}}}; these values must be replaced with concrete product data before publishing.
  • Step 5 references an external file (Jetbot-ws-script.zip); the download link may be invalid – please verify before publication.
  • The container ID in 'sudo docker restart 198acf2fea98' is an example; the actual ID must be queried via 'sudo docker ps -a'.
  • The 12V charger must not be connected directly to the Jetson Nano developer board.
  • Motor drivers differ between Waveshare and NVIDIA; if NVIDIA codes were installed, remove the Jetbot folder and reinstall Waveshare's version.
  • The Jetbot chassis is not powered through the ribbon cable; only the 12.6V power supply can power it.
  • For TF card issues on Windows: delete the volume in Disk Management, create a new volume and format it, then re-flash the new image.
