Technical overview

  • Based on the nRF51822 SoC for Bluetooth 4.0 Low Energy and 2.4 GHz RF ultra-low-power applications.
  • Exposes all GPIOs via expansion headers for easy prototyping.
  • Onboard CP2102 chip provides serial debug output over USB.
  • Supports battery holder and multiple power supply options; battery type: CR1220.
  • Includes LEDs and user keys for status indication and interaction.
  • Compatible with other official boards to ease use.
  • The NRF51822 Eval Kit consists of the BLE400 mother board plus the Core51822 module.

Commands and examples – verify before use:

Y oder y senden → Start... wird empfangen, Gerät sendet aktiv; LED0 leuchtet.
Serial-Einstellungen: Baudrate 38400, 8 Datenbits, 1 Stopbit.
nRFgo Studio: nRF51 Programming → Erase all vor dem Flashen neuer Programme.
Keil μVision: blinky.uvproj öffnen, F7 zum Kompilieren, Download-Icon zum Flashen.
ble_app_hrs: erst S110-SoftDevice flashen (s110_nrf51822_6.0.0_softdevice.hex), dann App kompilieren und laden.

Notes and version constraints

  • Exact slot dimensions are not specified in the source; confirm with the supplier.
  • If JLink firmware fails to cooperate with the Nordic SDK, Keil download may fail; use nRFgo Studio as fallback.
  • SDK installation errors require installing Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.
  • Phone connection requires the phone to support Bluetooth 4.0 and have the appropriate app installed.
  • The app displays received data only after 19 characters are received; shorter sequences are not shown.
  • Version-sensitive steps (nRFgo Studio ≥ v1.14, Keil MDK-ARM ≥ v4.54, J-Link Software ≥ v4.52b) must be verified before starting.
