Technical overview

  • Supports 2G/3G/4G network connections and the protocols TCP/IP, IPv4/IPv6, Multi-PDP, FTP/FTPS, HTTP/HTTPS, DNS.
  • USB port for direct connection to ARM/x86 hosts or industrial PCs; UART port with hardware flow control for host boards such as Arduino/STM32.
  • Nano-SIM slot; supports 1.8 V / 3 V nano-SIM cards.
  • Three LED indicators for monitoring operating status.
  • Baud rates: support from 300 bps to 4 Mbps (default 115200 bps); auto-negotiation between 9600 and 115200 bps.
  • GNSS functionality requires separately purchasing a GPS antenna (for the G-H variant).
  • Firmware and model queries can be made via AT commands (e.g., AT+CGMM, AT+CGSN, AT+CSUB, AT+CGMR).
  • Network registration and signal quality can be checked with AT+COPS?, AT+CREG? and AT+CSQ.

Notes and version constraints

  • The source contains contradictory speed specifications (one section states 150 Mbps downlink and 50 Mbps uplink, another section swaps these values). Please confirm the correct specs with the manufacturer.
  • RNDIS modes (9011 vs 9001) are version-dependent; Win7 does not support RNDIS mode 9011 according to the source, so switch to NDIS.
  • To use GPS, the SIM7600G-H variant must be explicitly purchased; the CE-CNSE variant does not have GPS functionality.
  • Installing the wwan0 driver on Jetson/Raspberry Pi requires root privileges and may vary by system version.
  • NMEA output after enabling GPS: If no data appears, send the commands listed in the source and restart the module.
  • All AT commands should be verified in the target system before deployment, as exact syntax may vary by firmware version.
