Notes and version constraints
- Set the switch to OFF before connecting the battery to avoid shorting.
- Ensure Pogo pins are fully aligned with the pin header before turning on the power.
- On first installation, press the Boot button to activate the circuit if the board does not work.
- If the WARNING LED is on, the battery is connected in reverse – charging in this state is prohibited.
- For long-term operation, keep current below 4 A; at 5 A the unit may overheat.
- Use only the supplied charger; other power sources may cause damage due to high ripple.
- Li-ion/Li-po batteries are unstable and can cause fire or injury if improperly charged or used.
- Do not mix old and new batteries or use different brands.
- Replace batteries when they reach maximum cycle life or after two years, whichever comes first.
- Capacity reading may be inaccurate while the adapter is connected; expected full-charge voltage is 4.2 V.
- Negative current means the battery is discharging to power the Pi; positive means it is charging.
- Automatic restart after shutdown is not supported.
