Technical overview

  • Connect via the CSI port; on Zero-series boards the connector is next to the power input.
  • Supported sensors include OV5647, OV9281, IMX219, IMX290/IMX327, IMX378, IMX477, IMX519, IMX708, IMX296.
  • Driver support: libcamera or Raspicam depending on sensor; some sensors need a separate driver.
  • For non-official cameras set 'camera_auto_detect=0' in config.txt and add the matching dtoverlay line.
  • Start preview with 'sudo libcamera-hello -t 0'; close with Alt+F4 or Ctrl+C in the terminal.
  • Two cameras at once: append 'cam0' and 'cam1' to the respective dtoverlay commands.
  • On Bookworm, prefer rpicam-* commands; libcamera is planned to be deprecated.
  • On Bullseye with older Pis: enable Glamor and check that vc4-fkms-v3d or vc4-kms-v3d is active.

Notes and version constraints

  • The source contains placeholders ({{{...}}) and truncated sections; some details are missing or unclear.
  • Version-sensitive steps: the config.txt path differs between older systems and Bookworm (/boot/config.txt vs. /boot/firmware/config.txt).
  • Some sensor/driver combinations require extra files or drivers; confirm before use.
  • Not every listed sensor is necessarily relevant to this module; compatibility must be verified per board model.
  • Marketing and navigation content removed; no price, stock, certification, or warranty claims included.
