== Technical overview ==
* The kit is based on the NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX module with 16 GB LPDDR5 (128-bit, 102.4 GB/s) and a 1024-core Ampere GPU with 32 tensor cores.
* The CPU is an 8-core Arm Cortex-A78AE v8.2 64-bit processor with 2 MB L2 and 4 MB L3 cache.
* Two variants: DEV-KIT-A includes an 8 MP camera (3280 x 2464); DEV-KIT-B adds a 13.3-inch capacitive touch display (1920x1080, 10-point touch, built-in speaker).
* The base kit ships the 16 GB module without onboard storage; a 256 GB NVMe SSD is included.
* Default login: if preconfigured, both username and password are 'jetson'.
* Without a screen, use Putty over a USB port for configuration.
* Upgrading to Super requires an Ubuntu 20.04 or 22.04 host; the Waveshare kit must be updated via script with Jetpack 6.2, not through the SDK Manager.
* Flashing: short the FC REC and GND pins, connect DC power, then connect the board to the Ubuntu host via a Type-C data cable.
* Install the SDK by running: sudo apt update; sudo apt install nvidia-jetpack.
* Install jtop: sudo apt install python3-pip; sudo pip3 install jetson-stats; reboot, then run jtop and set fan speed manually via profiles.

== Notes and version constraints ==
* The upgrade instructions reference Jetson Orin Nano/NX Super; whether the same procedure applies exactly to the 16 GB Orin NX kit needs NVIDIA confirmation.
* The source contains template placeholders ({{{name5}}}, {{{userDefinedInfo}}), indicating incomplete or version-sensitive content.
* The wget URLs point to r36.4.3 resources; newer versions may affect compatibility – verify the current version before flashing.
* The l4t_initrd_flash.sh script uses the argument 'jetson-orin-nano-devkit-super'; for the Orin NX 16 GB a different board identifier may be required.
* No safety certifications, warranty, or pricing information is present in the source; these should not be inferred.
