== Summary ==
This document describes the Waveshare 1.51-inch transparent OLED module with 128×64 resolution, an SSD1309 controller, and SPI/I2C interfaces. It includes wiring examples for Raspberry Pi, STM32, and Arduino, along with test commands.

== Technical overview ==
* Resolution: 128 × 64 pixels; display size 35.05 × 15.32 mm; pixel size 0.254 × 0.254 mm
* Operating voltage: 5 V / 3.3 V; communication via 4-wire SPI or I2C
* Integrated controller: SSD1309 with 128×64-bit SRAM; supports SPI, I2C, 6800 and 8080 parallel ports, and 256-level brightness settings
* Pinout: VCC (5V/3.3V), GND, DIN, CLK, CS (active-low), DC (high = data, low = command), RST (active-low)
* Hardware configuration: Two resistors on the back select the interface; factory default is 4-wire SPI; switching to I2C requires soldering the corresponding 0Ω resistors and adjusting DEV_Config.h
* Raspberry Pi connection: VCC to 3.3 V, GND to ground, DIN to SPI MOSI or I2C SDA, CLK to SPI SCLK or I2C SCL, CS to CE0, D/C to GPIO6, RES to GPIO2
* For Raspberry Pi, run `sudo raspi-config` in the terminal to enable SPI or I2C under Interfacing Options, then reboot
* Libraries: BCM2835, WiringPi, and lgpio availability depends on the Debian release; on Bookworm only lgpio can be installed
* Python environment: install python3-pip, python3-pil, python3-numpy, spidev, and python3-smbus
* Test demo: download and extract the demo package, then run the C demo with `sudo ./main 1.51` or the matching Python script

'''Commands and examples – verify before use:'''

sudo ./main 1.51
sudo python3 OLED_1in51_test.py

== Notes and version constraints ==
* The exact name of the Python test script for the 1.51-inch module is not fully specified in the source; verify before running.
* Switching from SPI to I2C requires soldering and editing DEV_Config.h; exact steps are version-sensitive.
* Displaying the same image for extended periods may cause afterimages and damage the OLED.
* Do not reverse-connect the power supply; connecting only VCC and GND without program control will leave the display dark.
* Current-consumption figures in the FAQ refer to other OLED models; specific values for the 1.51-inch transparent OLED are not provided in the source.
