== Technical overview ==
* Adapter for NVMe protocol M.2 SSDs, faster reading/writing
* Supports base boards with PCI-E ×1/×4/×8/×16 sockets
* Compatible with different sizes of M.2 SSDs
* Installation: insert the SSD into the adapter and secure it with screws
* Before first use, format the SSD on a PC – do not use quick format mode
* Check detection: `sudo fdisk -l`
* Check storage: `df -h`
* Mounting: create a directory and run `sudo mount /dev/nvme0n1p1 /home/pi/toshiba`
* Read/write test using `dd` commands
* For more precise testing, the SSD can also be tested directly on a PC

'''Commands and examples – verify before use:'''
<syntaxhighlight lang="text">
sudo fdisk -l
df -h
sudo mkdir /home/pi/toshiba
sudo mount /dev/nvme0n1p1 /home/pi/toshiba
cd /home/pi/toshiba
sudo sh -c "sync && echo 3 > /proc/sys/vm/drop_caches"
sudo dd if=/dev/zero of=./test_write count=2000 bs=1024k
sudo dd if=./test_write of=/dev/null count=2000 bs=1024k
</syntaxhighlight>

== Notes and version constraints ==
* The exact device name (e.g., nvme0n1p1) may vary by system; verify with `lsblk` or `fdisk -l` before mounting
* Quick format is explicitly discouraged; use full format instead
* Test results depend on the specific SSD model and Pi system
* Shut down the PC before connecting the SSD, then reboot
* Turn off the CM4 before inserting the adapter
* Version-sensitive steps and exact commands should be verified on the target system before execution
