== Technical overview ==
* The module is based on the Raspberry Pi CM4 and features an M.2 B KEY slot that supports 4G/5G modules via a USB channel.
* Power input: 7 to 36 V DC; a minimum supply of 5 V / 2.5 A or 12 V / 1 A is recommended.
* RS485 and CAN are disabled by default and are enabled through entries in /boot/config.txt.
* The USB 2.0 port is also disabled by default; enable it by adding 'dtoverlay=dwc2,dr_mode=host' to config.txt.
* An onboard UPS module with a lithium battery (CR1220 holder) provides backup power for the CM4.
* The fan header supports standard fans at 5 V or 12 V; voltage selection is done via a jumper.
* For 4G/5G configuration, minicom is used over /dev/ttyUSB2, followed by AT commands to switch modem modes.

== Notes and version constraints ==
* Not all 4G/5G modules mentioned in the wiki are guaranteed compatible; only SIM7600G-H-M.2, SIM8202G-M2 and SIM8200EA-M2 are explicitly listed.
* On first connection of the battery, there may be no power output; the BOOT button on the UPS module must be pressed to activate the output.
* Lithium batteries have a limited cycle life and should be replaced when they reach their maximum cycles or after two years.
* The operating temperature range is approximately -20 to +85°C; exceeding this range may impair performance.
* When programming via USB-C, no other devices should be connected to ensure proper power supply to the CM4.
* Switching the 4G/5G module takes about 30 seconds if the antenna or SIM card is not connected before powering on the module.
