== Summary ==
The 7inch DSI LCD (C) is a capacitive touch display with an IPS panel, 1024×600 resolution and up to 60Hz refresh rate. It is driven directly via the Raspberry Pi's DSI interface and supports multiple Pi models as well as current Linux systems.
== Technical overview ==
* Resolution: 1024×600, 7-inch IPS panel with five-point capacitive touch
* Interfaces: DSI (DSI1 recommended), I2C1 for brightness control
* Compatible systems: Trixie, Bookworm, Bullseye, Buster
* Input voltage: standard 5.00 V (range 4.75–5.30 V)
* Operating temperature: 0–60 °C; storage temperature: -10–70 °C
* Connection to Pi5/CM5/CM4/CM3+/CM3 via the 12cm DSI cable to the 22-pin DSI1 port
* Connection to Pi4B/3B+/3B/3A+ via the 15-pin FPC cable to the Pi's DSI port
* Software setup under Trixie/Bookworm: add dtoverlay=vc4-kms-v3d and dtoverlay=vc4-kms-dsi-waveshare-panel,7_0_inchC,i2c1 to config.txt
* Under Buster/Bullseye the driver can be installed manually or a pre-installed image can be used
* Brightness can be adjusted graphically through screen settings or via terminal commands

'''Commands and examples – verify before use:'''
sudo reboot
== Notes and version constraints ==
* Exact commands and configuration entries are version-sensitive; system updates may overwrite previously installed driver files.
* When changing the motherboard model (e.g., from Pi4 to Pi3), the driver must be reinstalled.
* The correct DSI interface (DSI1 vs. DSI0) must be selected according to the Pi model; incorrect selection leads to display errors.
* Long-term storage at high temperature and humidity may permanently damage the display panel.
* Insufficient input current below 0.5A can cause startup failures or display abnormalities.
* Switching from I2C1 to I2C0 requires soldering work and rewiring; this should only be performed by experienced individuals.
